Started in late 2015, Washmen®[1] is a digital laundry and dry cleaning service in the UAE. The company's services are offered in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In 2019, Washmen® launched its 30,000 sq. ft facility in a bid to build the best operations the laundry industry has seen. Washmen is known in the UAE for its innovative practices and technological advancements in the laundry Industry.
Investment[edit]
In 2019 Washmen closed a Series-B round of 6.2 million-US$. [2]The total fund raise to date since their inception in May 2015 is 7.8 million-US$.
The latest round was led by AddVenture (Russia) as a returning investor, with the participation from new strategic investors, Henkel (Germany) and Cedar Mundi Ventures (Lebanon).
B&Y Venture Partners (Lebanon) and Clara Ventures (UAE) also participated in the round.
Awards and Recognitions[edit]
In 2020, Washmen was internationally ranked amongst top 3 in the world by CINET[3] (Comité International De L`Entretien du Textile), Washmen achieved first place in the UAE, first in all of Asia, and third place globally.
Washmen Recycling Program[edit]
Washmen are doing their bit for the environment with the launch of their new recycling service. When customers place a laundry order with them, they’re required to leave the load outside their door for collection, and now they can leave their home recycling waste as well for free.
It’s not just Washmen-branded waste that they will take off your hands. You can donate all of your plastic waste including water bottles, plastic carrier bags and containers, as well as paper waste such as newspapers, cardboard, flyers and so on.
