Wayne Duggan is an American financial markets journalist. He has reported for Benzinga since 2014[1] and U.S. News & World Report since 2016.[2] He often focuses on the psychological challenges involved in investing.

Personal Life[edit]

Duggan graduated from Hazel Green High School in 2002. He attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning a bachelor’s degree in 2006 in brain and cognitive sciences.[3]

Duggan was named to the Alabama 6A high school first-team all-state baseball team in 2002.[4] While at MIT, Duggan was a member of the baseball team and was described as one of the best hitters in the New England region, winning the team MVP award three of his four seasons.[5] In a 2014 interview with Motley Fool, Duggan said his first educational exposure to investing came from reading a biography of Warren Buffett.[6]

Career[edit]

Duggan published his book Beating Wall Street with Common Sense in 2014. [7] He briefly contributed market analysis for The Motley Fool starting in April 2014 before joining Benzinga as a staff writer in October 2014.

Duggan has penned more than 5,500 news articles for Benzinga.[8] He has also contributed market analysis to Seeking Alpha[9] and InvestorPlace[10]. Duggan’s Benzinga article “The Most Popular Stocks Held By 4 Different Generations Of Investors”[11] was discussed on CNBC’s “Halftime Report” on May 21, 2015.[12]

Duggan joined U.S. News & World report in November 2016 where he frequently reports on breaking market news and financial analyst commentary related to popular stocks.[13]
