Wayne Steven Jackson is a performance maker from Kingston upon Hull. He graduated with a BA (Hons.) in Theatre Studies from Lancaster University in 2004, an MA in Contemporary Performance from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2008, and is currently a PhD candidate at London South Bank University. He has been co-Artistic Director of Escape Theatre since 2004. His solo work includes Losing (2008), How I Lost the Pound Coin (And Why I Want It Back) (2010).[1], and (and two) (2012)[2]. In 2011 he became Course Leader for Theatre and Performance at the prestigious Arden School of Theatre.

In 2017, Wayne created and performed the critically acclaimed[3][4] Now|Then as part of the 2017 UK City of Culture celebrations[5][6]. The performance journeyed through the streets of Hull in a taxi, exploring memories of Hull that would have otherwise been forgotten, and was set to a stunning soundtrack composed by Christopher Benstead. The show was a top ten theatre highlight of the 2017 year[7], and was featured on BBC Radio, KCFM, Hull Daily Mail, BBC Arts[8], and BBC Breakfast[9]. At the end of the 2017 City of culture celebrations, as a result of the success of Now|Then, Wayne featured as a Hull Legend in Hull Daily Mail's list[10]
