WeTV (Chinese: 腾讯视频海外版; pinyin: Téngxùn Shìpín Hǎiwài Bǎn ), is a Chinese video-on-demand, over-the-top streaming service owned by Tencent. WeTV was officially launched in 2019 in Thailand[1][2] and expanded to other regions such as South East Asian, Middle Eastern and European markets. As of 2021, WeTV currently supports 11 languages.[3]
The service predominantly distributes films, animes and television series produced by Tencent or licensed to WeTV from its global and regional partners. Original films, exclusive content and television series are also distributed on WeTV. The service also provides content add-ons, live events, and video rentals and purchases.
In June 2020, Tencent acquired iflix’s “content, technology, and resources”[4]. In some regions, the collaboration between the two platforms is called "WeTV iflix".
