Werner Goldschmidt (February 9, 1910 – 1987) was a German legal scholar and professor in Argentina.[1]
Life
Werner Goldschmidt was the son of Margarete and James Goldschmidt.[2] In 1931 he received his doctorate from the University of Hamburg. In 1948, he was offered the Chair of International Private Law by the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán in Argentina, which he accepted. He was then a Professor at several Universities in Argentina, in particular for International Private Law as well as Legal Philosophy. In his main legal work, ‘The Building of the Legal World’ (1963), his ‘Theory of the Three-dimensional Legal World’ is significant in terms of ideas for the History of Legal and State Philosophy.[3]
