Sometimes during the year 2020, the publisher, Citadel Consulting Group LLC, decided to take action on upgrading their existing websites with more trendier styling. They had been looking for some time into this upgrade, but could not find a proper solution. Rather than refurbish their existing platform, West Coast Midnight Run | Where Glamour Context Speaks Entertainment ™, the publisher decided on building an all new platform with far more features and graphics capabilities to accomodate the growing demands of web surfers and members.

THE KIOSK AND THE FORUMS[edit]

The new platform would have far more advanced paneling, graphics and members participation features. The new platform, just like its predecessor would also not have any digital cookies that would track visitor actions, would not have any censors or filters that would block or restrict open commenting on any issue. Just like its predecessor, the new platform would also have a special section for members who can create their own topic threads for all to join in. The new venue would have two main sections, The Kiosk and The Forums. In the Forums, members had substantial lattitude to express themselves and they can create their own comments in all new threads.

The Kiosk is reserved for columnists and editorial staff where they could post reviews, revues, op-eds for everyone to read and comment on. In the Kiosk, the members cannot start their own threads or their own reports as they can in The Forums.

MEMBERSHIPS, FREE AND PREMIUM[edit]

The original venue's memberships were all free for the lifetime of the account. A visitor could also register using their existing social media account to automatically sign in (Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram) or could sign up using the new account request form. With the new Gateway, West Coast Midnight Run sign up could be done at the Login page or via the Menu selections, Members Port, and the publisher split memberships into four levels, Standard (free), Premium, Silver and Gold. Premium to Gold memberships were upgrade features purchased at the venue, but visitors would need to sign up for a Standard account first, then request or purchase the upgrade, which provided greater access to content, downloads and extra perks.

Premium, Silver and Gold memberships required annual fees or the premium accounts defaulted back to Standard upon expiration.

Occasional discounts were also offered to corporate partners who would then make the discounted memberships available to their customers.

ORIGINS | FEATURES AND BEATS[edit]

West Coast Midnight Run's originally started out in 2004 as a bi-annual magazine format before pivoting to Blog segments and reports. The publication originally featured supercars and high-performance sports cars as its centerpiece cover feature, complemented by movie reviews, consumer product reviews and international culture segments. Sites Unseen, The Third Wheel and In Other Words were meant to be regular features that covered somewhat different topics than was the mainstream thrust of bookstore items. In 2012, the entire format was revamped with a stronger emphasis on more pop culture mainstream beats. A new edition provided expanded pages that became the prevailing trend, increasing the size of the edition from its former 100 pages to 150 pages. Subsequent editions were even larger going to 200 and 350 pages in size. These editions are now called the Art Books volumes and new Blog venue was created for more regular segments in blog format rather than magazine art layouts format.

SPORTS AND THE OLYMPICS[edit]

In 2024, West Coast Midnight Run expanded its Kiosk coverage to include coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, heralding a new chapter in the publication, which until then had very little sports coverage in its content. The publication also released fifty new and original, exclusive, Paris and Olympics-themed posters to be enjoyed by the public and can only be downloaded by registered members, solely available from the West Coast Midnight Run Gateway venue.

Three revue segments on the Paris 2024 Olympics were developed, two currently in publication and one due out in 2025. Another fifty posters for the upcoming Milan 2026 Winter Olympics Games are currently in production and will be released throughout 2025 and 2026 in anticipation of further coverage of sports at the Milan Olympics at the end of 2026.
