The West Island Gang is a criminal gang that originates in Montreal, Quebec, Canada area also known as W.1.G
History and inccidents
- Multiple cocaine and drug smuggling have been caught by the SPVM carrying around 27 kilos worth of illegal drugs.[1]
- Multiple illegal weapons had been found in the homes of alleged members.[2]
- According to the official SPVM press release, the operation was led by the SPVM's Organized Crime Division – Anti-Gang Unit, with support from multiple tactical and investigative units, including the Sûreté du Québec Tactical Intervention Group. The arrests and associated search warrants were executed in the borough of LaSalle, as well as in the municipalities of Pointe-Claire and Vaudreuil.[3][4]

Present day
- We currently have no information regarding the disbandment of the gang or any information about the street gang but recently,an inccident involving some activities ranged from robbery to trafficking crack cocaine.
Six of the people arrested are also charged with attempted murder. "They attacked one member of another gang," Brochet says. The West Island's police chief, Pierre Brochet, says they went from being troublesome kids to criminals. "We realized that a little group was doing violent activities," he says. The chief says everyone arrested is under the age of 20. One minor is charged with attempted murder.[8]

Another teen was stabbed across the street from Skratch, a giant pool hall in a strip mall in Pierrefonds. In July 2004, police charged the father, mother and two sons of the St-Cyr family with masterminding a teen-prostitution ring out of their West Island home. The pimps were alleged members of a street gang known as the Crack Down Posse, and their prostitutes were tattooed with the word boo, Creole slang for "whore" a sign to other gangs that the girls were somebody else's property.[9]

Growth
- The leader Jonathan Klor gets 14-year sentence where he admitted to trying to murder three of his rivals. his arrest took place on August 2009.On June 6, 2009, Klor was released on a 15-month prison term he received in 2008 for kidnapping a drug dealer. He decided to start up a gang called the Diplomats and targeted a rival gang based in the West Island, called the Streetgangsters, when he shot three men on different occasions. He also shot up a house on Elgin St. in Pierrefonds on July 15, 2009, where two members of the Streetgangsters lived.[11]
The pistol used in the shooting was later found, in 2009, in the home of Jonathan Castilho, the 29-year-old Kirkland resident who was found fatally wounded at the Beaurepaire train station in Beaconsfield on Sunday.[12]
