West of Wicked (The Great and Terrible Land) is a young adult horror dark-fantasy reimagining novel of the Wizard of Oz children's fantasy novel by Nikki St. Crowe published on April 14, 2026.[1] It was followed by sequel novel East of Envy published on November 3, 2026.[2]
Premise
Dorothy Gale has no recollection before the age of five when she was dropped on Em and Henry’s doorstep on the night of a terrible storm. When a cyclone brings Dorothy to the cursed land of Oz, and on the advice of the Witch of the North, sets off on the yellow brick road to find the wizard, comes across the beaten and bloody wizard Rook, tied to a pole in a cornfield, then joining forces with the "Tinman".[1]
