Westall Secondary College
Westall Secondary College is an Australian government coeducational school for students years 7-12 in Melbourne's south east. It's located on 88 Rosebank Avenue, Clayton South 3169, Victoria.

History[edit]
The official opening for Westall High School (now Westall Secondary College) commenced in the October of 1965, but the actual beginning of the school had been in 1963. Westall High School was later renamed to Westall Secondary College.
Alleged UFO Sighting
A mass UFO sighting, dubbed Westall 66, occurred on the 6th of April 1966 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. At approximately 11:00 am on Wednesday, 6 April 1966, students and a teacher from Westall High School (now Westall Secondary College) reported seeing a flying object, described as a grey (or silvery green) saucer-shaped craft with a slight purple hue and about twice the size of a family car. According to the students, the object overflew the high school and disappeared behind a stand of trees.
The UFO park, next to the Grange Reserve, was built as a memorial to the incident.
Camp Balook
From 1969 to 2011, Westall Secondary College ran Camp Balook, a camp program. It was located in the regional eastern suburb of Balook 3971.
Curriculum[edit]
Years 7 and 8 (Junior School)
Students in years 7 and 8 are offered a broad range of subjects, including: English, English as an Additional Language (EAL), Mathematics, Science, Humanities or Global Literacy (History, Geography, Economics), LOTE Chinese, Health, Physical Education, Sport, Visual Communication and Design (VCD), Art, Music, Wood Technology, Food Technology, and Digital Technology.
Years 9 and 10 (Middle School)
Students in years 9 and 10 are required to choose their electives, which they will be taking with their core subjects. Year 9 students choose one elective and year 10 students choose two electives. The electives they can choose from include: Art, Visual Communication and Design, Photography, English Enhancements, EAL Assist, Mathematics Extension, VET Sport and Recreation, Food Technology, Chinese. The core subjects include: English, English as an Additional Language (EAL), Mathematics, Science, Humanities or Global Literacy (History, Geography, Economics), Health, Physical Education, Sport.
Years 11 and 12 (Senior School)
Senior School students are offered a wide range of senior studies including Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and Vocational Education and Training (VET).
iCreate Program (Years 7 to 12)
The iCreate Program is an elective program for all students in years 7-12. It takes up two periods on Wednesdays where students have the opportunity to follow their passion and undertake a project-based subject. These subjects include: Taekwondo, Construction and Technology, Coding, Singing, Dance and Drama, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Cooking, Visual Arts and Media, Aviation, Sport, Study Space (a dedicated time to study), Outdoor Education, and Entrepreneur.
Facilities[edit]
In the May of 2021, Westall Secondary College recieved $9.3 Million to commence the rebuilding of the school. Construction is planned to commence late 2022 with completion planned to be late 2024. Two new buildings, Balook and the Wellbeing Centre, were constructed in 2019.
