Westcon Group is a Norwegian industrial and maritime services company headquartered in Ølensvåg, Rogaland. It provides shipbuilding, ship repair, and offshore services, operating primarily from its main yard in Ølen. The company serves the maritime, offshore energy, and aquaculture sectors.[1]
Westcon[2][3]traces its origins to 1963, when it was founded as Ølen Skipsindustri.[4] In 1991, the Matre family established West Contractors in Ølensvåg, and in 2011 the company adopted the name Westcon.[5]

Breidablikk (2022): (Equinor via TechnipFMC) Supply of 13 subsea and 6 Pipeline Landing Racks (PLRs) for the Breidablikk SURF field expansion[26][27]Westcon Yard KarmsundMS Ecofive (2023): A hybrid factory trawler for Bluewild, featuring an X-Bow hull and energy-efficient systems. It won Ship of the Year and Innovation of the Year.[28][29]
MS TRØNDERBAS (2025): Modern fishing vessel equipped with diesel, diesel-electric propulsion, and a large battery pack that ensures optimal energy efficiency and propulsion.[30][31]
Defence contracts
Westcon Yards Florø is part of a consortium led by Kongsberg Gruppen for long-term maintenance and life-extension of Norway's Nansen-class frigates, under a framework agreement worth up to NOK 17 billion.[32] The company also holds contracts for maintenance and upgrades of Norwegian Coast Guard vessels.[33] In 2025, Westcon signed an MoU with Naval Group to support future Norwegian frigate programs.[34]
