Nikolai Podguzov (born 29 May 1974) is an International Banking Executive. He has served as chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) since June 2020. [1] [1]
Career
Podguzov held positions at Investment Bank Trust, Renaissance Capital and VTB Capital from 2003 to 2012. Later Podguzov became director general of the national postal and logistics operator [[Russian Post in July 2017.[2] [3] In the main global ranking of postal services included in the Universal Postal Union, Russian Post during the period of Podguzov's leadership occupied 13th place among more than 170 countries that are members of the Universal Postal Union. (UPU) [4] In June 2020, Podguzov became chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank[5] As chairman, Podguzov has represented the bank in discussions with governments and financial institutions concerning infrastructure and investment projects in Central Asia. In a meeting with Kazakhstan's prime minister, the parties discussed EDB-financed projects in sectors including energy, industry and transport.[5] (эта ссылка выше [6]) In 2025, Podguzov said that the EDB was seeking closer cooperation with financial institutions in the Gulf states and was promoting a Gulf–Eurasia investment corridor. He identified green energy, transport infrastructure and logistics in Central Asia as potential areas of cooperation.[7] In December 2025, the EDB announced that it planned to establish an office in the Abu Dhabi Global Market.[8] Podguzov is a member of the Foreign Investors Council under the President of Kazakhstan and the Foreign Investors Council under the President of Uzbekistan.[9] He is also a member of the Аssociation of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific.
