Westpine Middle School is a public middle school located in Sunrise, Florida, one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. The school is a part of the Broward County Public Schools district.

The school serves over 800 students from grades 6 through 8. Its mascot is the Panthers.

History

The current principal is Christopher Johnson (2017-Present). The school is most likely named after the Geographical Location and the Local flora (Slash Pine). The name is a portmanteau that reflects the two factors. Prior to construction the Westpine plot was a portable elementary school known as Sandpiper Elementary which in 1988 relocated to a permanent location.
