What a Wonderful Industry is the ninth studio album by American singer-songwriter M. Ward. The album was surprise released in June 2018.

Ward self-released the album, stating his satisfaction with recording and releasing his work immediately, without needing to wait on a label.

The album is a critique of the record industry told through the stories of various characters Ward has met throughout his career. In a statement released with the album, Ward stated "This is a record inspired by people in the industry I have known—heroes and villains in equal measure."[1] Ward does not specifically name anyone who inspired the record, stating "All names have been changed to protect the innocent."[2]

The album features Jim James from the band My Morning Jacket on the tracks Bobby and Miracle Man.[1]
