Whitenife is an India-based luxury company that manufactures products such as sculptural jewelry, couture apparels, and art décor with animal-friendly materials.

History

Whitenife was founded by Sonia Agarwal Bajaj in November 2012. The company started working to develop eco-friendly leather, to curb the demand for genuine animal leather in 2012. Due to patent conflicts, the research was stopped. At the same time, Whitenife secured exclusive rights to the use of Elfh, a patented, mineral-based material, that had an 89% similarity rate to genuine elephant ivory.

Elfh

Elfh is a mineral-based composite that is 89% similar to genuine elephant ivory in mechanical and aesthetic properties. The composite's patent is registered under ELFORYN and was developed by a group of European scientists.

Craftsmanship

Many of the products of Whitenife are handcrafted and can take up to 450 hours of work. Whitenife has a team of artisans working from parts of Rajasthan, Kerala & West Bengal.

Notable designs

Whitenife was the first Indian design company to design the crown for an international beauty pageant. The company designed crowns for Miss World Australia, Miss Grand Australia and Miss Supranational Australia in 2014.

Associations

The concept and working of Whitenife has been covered by several publications, including The Times of India[1] and Entrepreneur, Society Interiors, Verve, and Time & Style.
