It was first launched on 1 February 2009 and initially included high-profile radio DJs such as David Hamilton, Paul Burnett, Mike Read[1] Ed Stewart[2] and Howard Pearce among others.[3] [4]Its main sponsorship and form of advertising was the Isle of Wight Gazette. Alex Dyke was the founder/owner of the Station. He now presents on Radio Solent on Weekday mornings & hosts an ex-Wight FM invention called Bubblegum & Cheese on Saturdays between 11am & 2pm. This ran on Wight FM on Saturday & Sunday mornings with Ed Stewart, in voicetracked form. The station ceased transmission in 2009. Wight FM TV never launched.
