Wildix is a software development company that focuses on unified communications, which includes phone calls, video conferencing, live chat, web linking and integrations.

History[edit]

Steve and Dimitri Osler founded Wildix in 2005 in Italy, shortly after Dimitri graduated from the University of Trento with a degree in information technology. Dimitri had studied the Asterisk phone system during his time there but realised there were heavy limitations to the current batch of technologies available.[1]

In 2013, Wildix became the first company to fully integrate WebRTC into a unified communications platform[2] and demonstrated the solution at the 2013 WebRTC Conference & Expo in Santa Chiara in California.

By 2017, Wildix had expanded its operations across Europe and North America, with offices in the UK[3], the United States, France, Germany, Estonia and Ukraine.[4] It also has an office in Switzerland.

In 2021, Wildix was positioned in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for unified communications as a service for the first time, along with other UCaaS brands such as Microsoft, Cisco Webex and Zoom.[5]. It has also appeared in the 2022 and 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrants for UCaaS.[6]

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Wildix evacuated 80% of the staff from the Odessa office to other countries, notably to Trento, Italy. The company has also fundraised to collect clothing and children's toys to assist with the relocation.[7]

In December 2023, equity company Livonia Partners, based in Tallinn, Estonia, announced it had made a strategic investment in Wildix.[8]

Wildix Products[edit]

Wildix primarily focuses on unified communications software and hardware. Its core product is Wildix Collaboration[9], a tool that delivers voice, text and video chat, and it can be integrated with common business software. Accompanying this is Wizywebinar, a webinar solution.

In addition, Wildix produces x-hoppers, a retail tool that enhances communication internally and can be integrated with AI tools for theft detection, spillage and empty shelf alerts, and on-demand coaching.[10][11]

It also has x-bees, a sales-oriented communications tools with out-of-the-box integrations for customer relationship management software such as Salesforce and AI tools such as Gong.[12]
