Will Moran[1] (born 12 October 1996) is a British radio and television presenter from Worksop, Nottinghamshire. He started his broadcasting career at his local hospital radio station, Trust AM[2], as a teenager after a friend of his Grandad's who was a sound engineer encouraged him to join. He spent 3 years at the station before moving away to Sheffield to study History at university[3]. Whilst at the University of Sheffield he joined the student radio station, Forge Radio[4], where he became an active member[5] and began to hone in his skills as a presenter. He has presented several slots on Forge Radio including a Breakfast Show, a midweek afternoon slot and in his first a specialist Saturday night music show focused on Rock music called Saturday Night Rocks.

Early life[edit]

Moran was born in Worksop, Nottinghamshire in England. He started his schooling at St Anne's Church of England Primary School and then went on to attend Outwood Academy Portland for his secondary education. After school he went on to study his A levels at Outwood Post 16 Centre and upon completion gained a place at the University of Sheffield to study a BA in History.

Career[edit]

Moran's early radio career began at Trust AM Hospital Radio which broadcasts to Bassetlaw Hospital in Worksop. From 2012-2015 he was a regular presenter at the station and was also responsible for training new volunteers that joined.

In October 2015, Moran joined his university student radio station and started presenting a Saturday night slot that focused on Rock music. He then went on to host several different slots during his time at the station as well as being involved in many outside broadcasts. He currently presents 'Will Moran in the Afternoon' and a Friday afternoon show where he plays back to back Hi-NRG Disco and Dance tracks ranging from the 1950s to the present day.

Moran's radio shows can be heard on his Mixcloud profile where he regularly uploads his appearances on Forge Radio and he also has his own Facebook dedicated to his radio & television presenting.[6]

Personal life[edit]

Moran is a supporter of Chelsea F.C. and a very keen runner who participated in the Worksop Half Marathon 2017 with a finishing time of 1:50:46[7] and he aims to run the Yorkshire Marathon in 2018 and the London Marathon in 2019[8]. Also a huge fan of golf, he plays regularly in his hometown and aims to have a handicap by the end of the year.
