William Mersey

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

William David Mersey aka William "Dollar Bill" Mersey (born 4 April 1950) is an American writer,[1] musician[2] and advertising executive[3] who served a year in prison for tax fraud where he shared a cell with Paul Manafort and suicide-watched Jeffrey Epstein while they were both incarcerated at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, New York.[1]

As a result of his close association with Epstein and Manafort, Mersey appeared in interviews on the Quest Red TV show "Who Killed Jeffrey Epstein",[4] Fox Nation's "The Twisted World of Jeffrey Epstein",[5] "Good Morning Britain",[6] and the Daily Mail TV show after his release. In addition, Mersey wrote several articles about the two celebrities and his prison experiences for the Daily Beast, NY Daily News, and Daily Mail.[1] His story was featured in the New York Post's Page Six, written by Cindy Adams.[7]

Personal life

Mersey grew up in Lynbrook, NY, attending public schools, and continued his education graduating with honors from Case Western Reserve University. He was awarded a NDEA Title IV fellowship to pursue a PhD in Economics at Tulane University, but abandoned academic study to play music professionally, following in his father Robert Mersey's footsteps as a producer, arranger and songwriter.

As the director of his own advertising agency and owner of a blog which specialized in devising ad campaigns for escorts and escort services, Mersey was eventually prosecuted for tax fraud and promotion of prostitution.[8][9] He pled guilty to a year and a day in federal prison on all counts. It was while incarcerated that he met Paul Manafort and Jeffrey Epstein.

Mersey has since been released and continues as a blogger and freelance writer currently leading a quiet, reclusive life in Greenwich Village, New York.
