The Winding Roe magazine is a community, historical and cultural magazine that covers the greater Dungiven area. It is filled with a collection of articles, historical accounts and poems[1]. The magazine is produced at the end of each year and contains stories, history and photos relating to Dungiven in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland or its diaspora.
History[edit]
It was founded by Aidan Farren in 2002. Farren had been a frequent contributor to its predecessor, the Benbradagh magazine. The advisory panel included Prof. Mary Wack of Washington State University, Historian, Seamus Hasson, and Brian Trainor of PRONI. Its first edition came out for Christmas 2002 and the magazine is always widely anticipated[2]

It has been a great resource for those tracing family roots in Dungiven and the wider Roe Valley area or history on names from the area such as O'Kanes. McCloskeys, Mullans/Mullens[3]
