Windivs is an operating system made by ErrorTek, and it is based on ReactOS. Its aim is to provide an alternative to Linux or older Windows releases.[1] It is a lightweight operating system requiring only 64MB of RAM and a little over 1GB of hard disk space. However, 512MB RAM and 8GB of hard disk space are recommended.
History
ErrorTek originally conceived Windivs as a Windows mod, however that wasn't very successful to implement, and Windivs was soon moved to be a ReactOS-based project instead. The logo for Windivs 2k3 (it was initially created on May 13, 2023), as well as initial attempts at compilation of it were made in mid-May 2023, two months before the first Windivs 2k3 build would even be released.
The first build of Windivs was released on July 15, 2023, with its GitHub repository being created on the same day. The Windivs 2k3 branding initially designed on May 13, 2023 was finally implemented into Windivs with build 5.2.3742, released on July 16, 2023.
The OS is no longer maintained and has been deprecated as of March 2025, with its GitHub repository being archived. It has been since succeeded by MenuOS.

A new major version of Windivs is released every 6 months. A new Service Pack for each supported version of Windivs is released every four months. Monthly security and quality patches are also released for every supported Windivs version.
