Development[edit]

In February 2016, Universal Pictures acquired an R-rated comedy musical script written by Michael Bacall and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, with Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum set to produce the film alongside Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan.[1] In March 2017, Gordon-Levitt was hired to direct the film with the title Wingmen, after talks with Seth Gordon, James Bobin, and Casey Nicholaw fell through.[2]

Casting[edit]

In February 2016, Gordon-Levitt and Tatum were set to star in the film.[1]
