Winston-Salem Dash
The Winston-Salem Dash are a minor league baseball team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. They joined the Carolina League in 1945 and have been affiliated with the Chicago White Sox since 1997.
The Dash play their home games at Truist Stadium, which they moved to after playing at Ernie Shore Field (now known as Gene Hooks Field). Through its different monikers and affiliations over the years – including "Twins" from 1905–53, 'Winston-Salem Red Birds' from 1957–60; 'Winston Salem Red Sox' 1961–83; ‘Spirits’ 1984 -94 and Warthogs 1995 to 2008-, it has won several championships throughout its history.
Their mascot is now Bolt—a lightning themed character who took Wally Warthog's place when the name changed to Winston-salem Dash prior to 2009 season start up. In 2021, the Dash were organized into the South Atlantic League as part of Major League Baseball's restructuring of Minor League Baseball.
