Family backgroundly background[edit]

The Wong family origin from Shanghai, China, and has always had a low-key but prominent position in the Asian business community. In the 1960s, the Wong’s family and their co-founders, the Dong’s family, started their business in several countries by manufacturing and selling aluminium products, enamel products, and kettles. The two families jointly founded Yifeng Enamel Company and its designer Qianjin Brand Thermos Factory Co., Ltd., of which the Camel brand and trademark have been sold.

The Qianjin thermos brand founded by the Dong’s family and Wong’s family first established in Shanghai, China, and opened its first branch in Hong Kong at 1938. In Hong Kong in the 1950s, "Qianjin  and Camel Thermos" were a household name at the time due to the popularity of its classic thermos products.

Since 1964, the Wong’s family has further expanded the thermos business to Malaysia, and began to purchase a large amount of land in Kuala Lumpur and Penang for real estate investment. Since then, it has changed their business strategy and gradually expanded its core business from pure industrial manufacturing to different financial fields such as mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, environment friendly products etc.

Education[edit]

Dr. Wong has completed his secondary and preparatory courses at Maz International School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by the Malaysia Airlines. In 1993, he obtained a bachelor's degree in finance from Kingston Polytechnic University, London, UK and he was elected as the President of the Mathematics Society during this period. He also obtained a doctorate in business management from the University of Sheffield in year 2018.

Dr. Wong is a senior executive with 22 years of experience in corporate finance, focusing on IPO listing management, corporate takeovers, mergers and acquisitions etc., especially in the UK and Hong Kong. He is currently a member of the board of directors of several holding companies in China, Singapore, United Kingdom and Dubai. Among them, the performance in the Chinese market is particularly outstanding. At the same time, Dr. Wong holds major equity interests in many companies around the world and holds directorships.

Philanthropic work[edit]

Dr. Wong has been actively involved in community service and committed to providing quality education for school children, sparing no effort in cultivating international talents and future leaders. Actively participate in the public service of the community and educational institutions. In the public welfare undertaking, it has been unanimously recognized by Universal Hope, Lions Clubs International, Po Leung Kuk, and Princess Wencheng International Foundation chaired by the famous Hong Kong philanthropist Ms. Alice Chiu BBS JP.

Since 2007, Dr. Wong has led the Phoenix Foundation to establish a scholarship programme to support students with outstanding academic performance but from poor families. The Phoenix Foundation Tuition Subsidy Program aims to enable these children to receive high-quality biliterate and trilingual education in China, Malaysia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

In 2018, the independent charitable donation made the film “Dearest Anita", which was adapted from the real story of Anita Mui's fans. Directed by Clifton Ko and Pako Leung, starring Yuki Fong, Elvina Kong, Sonija Kwok, Alex Tak-Shun Lam, Anita Mui (archive footage), Richard Ng Hue Hon, Susan Yam-Yam Shaw, Kenneth Tsang Kong, Myopia Wu Hang. In 2019, the film was produced by Raymond Wong’s iD Productions Huang and released globally such as iQIYI.

In 2020, Dr. Wong will permanently sponsor with his wife name by rectification and renovating the facilities of the school hall of HKFEW Wong Cho Bau School to provide students with a more ideal learning environment, allowing students to experience the diverse and develop self-confidence through exploration and experiential learning in a pleasant environment.

In 2021, Malaysia was hit by severe floods and it was Christmas. Dr. Wong and a group of professionals spared no effort to provide a lot of clothing and donations during the epidemic. In the same year, it also made repair donations to the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in Hong Kong, China.
