Wonsulting is a San Francisco-based career consulting firm founded by Jonathan Javier[1] and Jerry Lee.[2] The company is noted for its work in helping those who come from non-target schools and non-traditional backgrounds to land jobs of their dreams.[3]

History

The company first started as an idea in 2019 when Jonathan was doing workshops for free at hundreds of universities around the world. He was working in tech companies but was taking time to teach students and job-seekers from non-traditional backgrounds how to use social media, specifically LinkedIn, to get into top companies.[4]

In 2020, Jonathan Javier and Jerry Lee, who both met while working at Google, joined forces to grow Wonsulting together. They started with initiatives including their Wonsulting Project 2020, which gave 4,500+ job-seekers affected by COVID-19 layoffs and furloughs opportunities. They then hosted weekly live workshops, partnering with companies to recruit job-seekers. These workshops attracted 20,000+ attendees on average,[5] most of whom landed jobs in their dream companies.[6]

Today, Wonsulting continues to grow to 1 million+ followers on all their social media platforms combined within a year. Topics they cover are resume tips, LinkedIn strategies, interview tips, and networking strategies, with some of their strategies getting featured on Business Insider, Yahoo News, and Fox11.[7]

Wonsulting has grown so much on Tiktok that the platform partnered with them to host a segment on Tiktokresumes.[8] To this effect, The Times Newspaper called the company a “TikTok juggernaut.”[9]

In March 2021, CEO Jonathan Javier was listed among Brainz Magazine’s 11 Career Experts You Should Follow in 2021[10] and Jobscan’s Top Job Search Experts to Follow on LinkedIn in 2021.[11]

Jerry Lee[12] was number 6 in LinkedIn Top Voices in Technology 2020.[13]
