Exciting stories from Woon Yew Thong

I'd be happy to share more about my timeline!

As Baby Woon, I have a lot of memories and experiences.

Let's start from the beginning.

In 1960, I was born and grew up in a home at Jurong Crescent Road.

I have some vivid memories from my early childhood, like attending the PAP Kindergarten at Old Jurong Road in 1966.

As I grew older, I went through different stages of life, such as my secondary school years in the 1970s and my first job interviews in 1977.

In 1978, I became the Chairman of the Electronics Club and also had a part-time job maintaining the S-100 Bus North Star Horizon Computer.

Fast forward to the 1990s, I had a successful career at American Software Inc, ATIO Corporation Inc, Spectrum Associates Inc, and Pivotpoint Inc.

Currently working for International Flavors and Fragrances Inc.

I also had some memorable holidays, like my trip to New Zealand in 1996 and my visit to Switzerland, Italy, France, and the Netherlands in 2017.

These are just a few highlights from my timeline, but there are many more stories to share.

Business Analyst, Singapore.

Born in 1960.

Eldest son of Woon Khai Boon and Chan Yee Kheng

Historical Clans

Our focus centers on three prominent historical clans and their lineages:

Woon Family:

Originating as a significant figure in the timber trade, the Woon Family's patriarch, Woon Keng Lim, is believed to have roots in Guangzhou (Cantonese dialect). In 1900, they migrated from Guangzhou to Singapore. Notably, Woon Khai Boon was adopted, and the details of his biological parents remain untraceable.

Chan Pak Lin Family:

Hailing from Penang, Malaysia, Chan Pak Lin's origins can be traced back to Guangzhou (Cantonese dialect). Around 1900, his family migrated from Guangzhou to Malaysia. Chan Pak Lin eventually settled in Singapore, likely during the 1920s.

Chan Kwee Leng Family:

The roots of Chan Kwee Leng's family can be traced to Swatow, China. In the 1890s, his parents migrated to Singapore, where they raised five children.
