The World Alpagut Federation (WAF) is the international governing body for the martial art of Alpagut. Established in 2014 and headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan, the federation is responsible for the regulation, promotion, and organization of Alpagut competitions and technical standards worldwide.[1]
International Affiliations
The World Federation of Alpagut was registered on February 12, 2014 under the number 434162041 and began operations.
- ISNI - On June 18, 2023, the World Federation of Alpagut was registered with the official organization International Standard Name Identifier.[2]
- ICSSPE - On May 17, 2022, he was inducted as a member of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education ().[3] [4] [5]
- TAFISA - On December 7, 2022, it was admitted as a member of the International Association of Sports for All,[6] and on November 3, 2023 he was admitted to permanent membership of TAFISA. [7][8] [9]
- IMGC[10] - On March 10, 2023, he was accepted as a member of the International Martial Arts Games Committee. [11]
- CIFP On May 10, 2023, he was accepted as a member of the International Fair Play Committee.[12][13]
- ISNO - On November 25, 2023, he was accepted as a member of the International Sports Network Organization.[14]
- GAWSF - On February 14, 2024, it was recognized by the General Association of World Sports Federations and accepted as an official member.[15] [16] [17]
- UIA[18] - On June 8, 2024, the World Alpagut Federation was published in the Global Civil Society Database, released by the Union of International Associations.[19]
- ITCHF - On December 30, 2024, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and the World Alpagut Federation.[20][21]

Academic and Methodological Foundation
WAF's training systems are rooted in the research conducted by Vasif Namazov on Turkic combat traditions. These methodologies are documented in global academic repositories:[62] [63]
Global Representation
The federation oversees national representations in over 50 countries, with significant activity in the following regions:
- Turkey: Extensive coverage by Anadolu Agency and Ihlas News Agency regarding World Cup achievements and national championships.[64][65]
- Iraq and Arab Region: Recognized and active through the Iraq Alpagut Committee, with coverage by Shafaq News and University of Wasit.[66][67]
- Europe: Active branches in Romania, Lithuania, and Italy.[68][69][70]
- Central Asia and Caucasus: Significant presence in Kazakhstan and Georgia.[71][72]
