World Humanitarian Drive[2] (WHD) is an International NGO with operations in 12[3] countries,[4] founded in Croydon, U.K. by British Indian Global Peace activist,[5] Entrepreneur, Writer, Dr Abdul Basit has also been honoured with ‘Freedom of the City of London’ award for Global Humanitarian and Educational Contributions at the traditional ceremony occurred at Guildhall's Chamberlain's Court in London on 18 September 2023.[6][7][8]

World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) was established in April 2018.[9] It is an international organization.[10] It has been granted special consultative status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).[11][12] The WHD was founded in the United Kingdom by Abdul Basit Syed, a British Indian global peace activist.

The primary mission of WHD[13] is to advance global peace,[14][15] international education, and trade.[16]

"World Humanitarian Award" initiative by WHD[edit]

Distinguishing and celebrating remarkable individuals and organisations, the "World Humanitarian Award"[17] honours outstanding contributions to humanity, underscoring their profound impact[18] and rewarding tireless efforts[19][20] The World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) has awarded individuals, organisations and community groups in Malaysia with the prestigious Global Humanitarian Award.[21] WHD has been working on numerous activities all over the world to intensify the need for ‘World Moral Day’ to be celebrated on 2nd of September every year as a remembrance of the last day of World War II.[22]
