The World Muay Thai Organization (WMO) is an organization which sanctions Muay Thai bouts at professional and amateur level worldwide. It is recognized by the Kru Muay Thai Organization, accredited by the Ministry of Culture (Thailand).[1]
History
The WMO was started by Chinawut Sirisompan on September 13, 2011 in Bangkok.
Rules and rankings
The WMO publishes regularly updated rankings for the professional female and male Muay Thai categories. They are the only Muay Thai body to publish in both English and Thai. Depending on the popularity of a weight class, their rankings hold the current top 15 to 40 fighters in the division, more than any other sanctioning body. WMO-sanctioned professional fights adhere to the standard rules and regulations for all Muay Thai competitions as approved by the Board of Boxing Sport (Office of Professional Sports) of the Sports Authority of Thailand.
