From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

World Organization of Religions and Knowledge (WORK) or WORK charitable trust is an organization based in Rampur that advocates peaceful coexistence.[1][2][3]

The organization was set up in 1987, under the guidance of Shams Naved Usmani.[3][4] Syed Abdullah Tariq is the ‘life-time president’.[3] There is an emphasis on ‘researching on other faiths’ in this organization.[4]

Members of the organization have actively visited villages since 1989 where they promote ‘religious and human unity’ on the basis of religious scriptures.[3] In 2001, they began to impart ‘interfaith education’ to Madrasa students.[3]

The organization also contributed in relief activities for the earthquakes in Gujarat and Kashmir in 2001 and 2005.[3] Members also performed services during the communal riots of Gujarat in 2002.[3]

Members of the World Organisation of Religion and Knowledge and local Muslims participated in a kalash procession held in 2011.[5] This procession passed through Har Ki Pauri, a prominent Kumbh Mela zone.[5] The organization aims to spread a message of ‘communal harmony and peace’ with their participation in such events.[5]

The organization organized a free medical camp in 2018 to commemorate ‘Milad un Nabi’ as ‘compassion day’ in Rampur.[6] ‘Working for the welfare of the people’ was emphasized by the organization.[6]
