World Tattoo Events (WTE) is the world’s largest international portal, completely dedicated to the world of Tattoo conventions. Its declared purpose is to contribute to promoting international festival, expo, convention, carnival, show in the tattoo industry in order to enlarge the scale of the tattoo industry along with its fast pace development.
WTE has eight members as of now (2019). It has the most complete list of tattoo events on Earth with 1,286 (data updated in October 2019) of the major tattoo conventions, expos, festivals and seminars.
WTE : accuracy guidance, relevant up-to-date tattoo information, convenient conventional interaction, promoting convention and vendors. Thanks to many sponsors, WTE is now able to bring tattoo events and to facilitate any tattoo artist to have their attendance, which builds up the enthusiastic atmosphere in either small- or large- scale shows.
History
In the last 3 decades, society has been immensely influenced by the growing popularity of tattoo culture. Small-scale tattoo gatherings (attended mostly by bikers and outcasts) which started in the 70’s, have now evolved into mega-events attracting thousands of tattoo enthusiasts and professionals: enter the world of modern Tattoo Conventions.
Despite the incredible popularity of these tattoo events, back in 2010, no website was created for a truly complete list of tattoo conventions. So Alex Van Dutch, a web developer frequently visiting tattoo conventions, started building an online tattoo conventions calendar, with the idea of helping himself (and eventually others) to keep track of noteworthy tattoo festivals. Then a beta version of World Tattoo Events was promulgated online in April 2010.
Fast forward to 2019 and what started as a side web project evolved into one of the biggest tattoo websites online, featuring over 1000 tattoo events worldwide.
