Worldwide Foam is an American manufacturer and distributor of closed cell polyolefin and Elastomeric foams, based in Elkhart, Indiana. It employs over 80 full-time employees and has 6 plants in the United States and Mexico.

History

Worldwide Foam was founded in 2008 by John Petrofsky and Donald Frandsen, and was acquired by Jacobs & Thompson Group in 2018[1] [2]. The company purchased its first distribution warehouse in Elkhart, Indiana in 2011 and opened distribution warehouses in Ontario, California and Atlanta, Georgia in 2013[3] [4].

Worldwide Foam entered into ventures with Hanwha Advanced Materials in 2013 to manufacture Expanded Polyethylene and Expanded Polypropylene foams. However, there were a few technical issues with production and quality control in its Michigan production facility. The materials produced did not cure properly and performance fell short. The joint venture eventually ceased in 2015 and the remaining materials were sold off in 2016.

The company was acquired by Jacobs & Thompson Group, a Canadian-based company, in 2018. Jacobs & Thompson Group was able to introduce many of its offerings to the United States via Worldwide Foam’s established distribution network. In the same year, Worldwide Foam became the distributor of Zotefoams and Sealed Air.
