Wunder Creative Inc., known as Wunder, is an independent creative agency based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.[1]
History[edit]
Prior to founding Wunder, Mike Postma and Stephen Flynn founded Tap, a network and mobile app to help users find nearby water and reduce plastic waste.[2] This collaboration and partnership led the pair to starting their marketing and advertising agency in 2017.[3]
Notable Work[edit]
Donair Cam[edit]
In their first year of operation, Wunder developed the Donair Cam campaign for their client Nova Scotia Webcams in partnership with local restaurant King of Donair.[4] The 24-7 livestream of a spinning spit of donair meat[5][6] went viral and within its first week garnered over 47 million impressions in 159 countries and received coverage by BuzzFeed, Yahoo, VICE, CBC, CTV, ABC, and others.[7]
Wunder Gift Card[edit]
To celebrate Wunder’s first Christmas, the agency decided to prank its clients with its Wunder Gift Card campaign.[8] The campaign first sent clients to a most disappointing gift shop only to reveal that the actual gift was an Amazon gift card.[9][10]
DonAir[edit]
For the opening of King of Donair’s first two restaurants in western Canada, Wunder launched a fake airline called DonAir and advertised that people in Alberta could now experience Halifax for only $7. [11][12]
Lotto Max Free Parking[edit]
To announce Lotto Max’s new weekly Tuesday draw, Wunder created the Free Parking campaign. On the first day of the new Tuesday draw, in partnership with the city of Halifax, the agency made metered parking free in downtown Halifax and Dartmouth.[13]
White Christmas[edit]
As a Christmas self-promo campaign, the agency gave people a pause from ads during the holiday season.[1][14] They secured a series of prime advertising placements and ran completely blank white ads during the busiest advertising month of the year.[15][16] The local stunt was covered by media around the world.[17][18]
