Technology[edit]

XDEFI Wallet is a Google Chrome browser extension.[5][6][7] The wallet is non-custodial, meaning that the end-user is responsible for securing their own seed phrase.[8]

Google Chrome browser extension wallets like XDEFI Wallet allow users to interact with Web3, NFT, and Decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.[9]

XDEFI Wallet was audited by Kudelski Security in 2021.[10]

XDEFI Wallet’s roadmap[edit]

The XDEFI Wallet team has said publicly their vision is to build the premier Web3 crypto gateway. They define four pillars of a Web3 gateway:[11]

  1. Ability to swap 10,500+ assets natively within the wallet. This currently represents 60x more assets than Coinbase and 25x more than Binance.
  2. Permissionless onboarding & unlimited withdrawals: Any user from almost any country can instantly create a non-custodial account and begin trading. All XDEFI Wallet users enjoy unlimited swaps and unlimited withdrawals.[2]
  3. Seamlessly connect to every dApp: Web2 exchanges are walled gardens. XDEFI Wallet seamlessly connects to every dApp in Web3 across every supported blockchain.

XDEFI Wallet was founded in 2020 by Emile Dubié and David Phan in London.[12] XDEFI Wallet operated in a closed beta version of the wallet until Q4 2021, when it was released to the public more broadly.

As of Summer 2022, XDEFI Wallet has raised a total of circa US$26M.[13][14][15][16]
