About the Bank[edit]

Joint-stock commercial Xalq Bank is one of the largest financial institutions in Uzbekistan. The main goal of the bank is to create a comprehensive banking system, attract free money from the population and increase credit and investment resources for lending to the population and developing priority sectors of the national economy. The central office of the bank is located in Tashkent.

The bank mobilizes all its efforts to stabilize its potential, gain the trust of the population, and strengthen its position and role in the market of banking services of the country. The mission of the Xalq Bank determines the direction and content of the bank's activity, serves to strengthen the role of the financial agent of the government, as well as to ensure the welfare of the people and the growth of the economy in general.

Bank clients are residents and business sectors.

Bank History[edit]

Joint-stock commercial Xalq bank is one of the oldest banks of Uzbekistan. Its primary savings banks in Tashkent were established in 1875.

Based on the decision of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 4, 1995, "O'zjamg'armabank" was reorganized into a state-commercial Xalq Bank. According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 24, 2015 "On measures to introduce modern corporate management methods in joint-stock companies" No. PF-4720, the name of the bank was changed to "Joint-Stock Commercial Xalq Bank".

During the years of independence, the People's Bank has been working as a financial agent of the government in the course of reforms in the monetary and credit sphere of the country's economy, and has been successfully fulfilling its responsibilities.

Service networks[edit]

Today, Xalq Bank is an important part of the banking system of Uzbekistan.

  • 196 regional and district (city) branches,
  • 106 "Banking service centers",
  • More than 3,000 checkouts;
  • 355 24/7/365 "Electronic Offices" are operating.

In order to increase the number of ATMs in order to provide high-quality service to customers and to ensure their constant working condition, a separate structural division was established, and today 1,289 ATMs are operating in places across the republic.

Bank Rating[edit]

In 2020, this bank was awarded with the rating called "BB-/B" by "Stable", ""Fitch Ratings"" and ""S&P Global Ratings"" of the international rating agency. From May 6 to May 7, the Xalq Bank successfully passed the 2nd control audit in accordance with the requirements of the international standard "ISO 9001:2015" by the representatives of the international certification organization "CERT International" (Slovakia). Results of the 2nd control audit of the Xalq Bank:  the interest and commitment of the top management in maintaining and improving the mass media;  high qualification of employees and attraction of international experts;  strive to constantly improve the quality of the services provided. The main result of the second control audit is the support of an effective quality management system that allows you to quickly respond to changes in the environment, anticipate future changes and systematically develop your business through the unification of the management system, the branch network interaction and high-quality service, as well as customer satisfaction at Xalq Bank.

Also, on the national scale, by the rating agencies "Ahbor-Reyting" and "UzA" - "Stable", "Standard And Sensitive Ratings" it's "UzA+" — "Stable" ratings were confirmed. This rating reflects the positive work done by Xalq Bank to increase the level of capitalization, strengthen the resource base, improve the quality of assets, and expand the scope of banking services.

Organizations owned by the bank[edit]

"Xalq Sug'urta" is a reliable and stable organization that performs the functions of the Government's financial agent in solving social tasks. We have established "Xalq Sug'urta" insurance company to provide insurance of property and personal interests of small businesses and private entrepreneurs, to develop microinsurance products and to actively promote them to wide segments of the population.

The company "UzPaynet" has been operating in Uzbekistan since 2005. During this period, it is possible to pay for the services of more than 400 service providers in the country, including the services of communal organizations, at each of more than 20,000 payment stations. The company does not stop at the achieved results, it is constantly working to expand the range of services provided and expand the range of service delivery partners.

Banking products and services[edit]

The bank offers all areas of traditional banking products and services, including a wide list of deposit products for individuals and legal entities, various types of credit, letter of credit operations, production and servicing of plastic cards, fast processing of account numbers opening and maintenance, maintenance of accumulated pension accounts, interactive banking services, international money transfers, lottery games and other services. Xalq Bank offers its customers the most convenient and useful ways of using services.

Legal clients are divided into small business, medium business and corporate client segments, and suitable financial services and banking products are offered for them. Loans are allocated to legal entities in more than 20 different national and foreign currencies. To date, there are 265,215 legal customer accounts, of which 120,388 (45%) are active customers.

``Corporate Mobile Banking — legal clients can manage their accounts from anywhere in the world using mobile communication tools through the interactive service called ``Corporate Mobile Banking.

"Internet banking" — use of Internet banking services allows legal clients to exchange financial documents with the bank and make real-time payments, fill up a corporate card, make monthly payments and monitor the status of accounts.

In addition to universal banking services and types of loans, new innovative solutions are offered for individuals. Banking products are being developed based on the customers' requirements. ""Plastic cards"" — debit and credit cards for pensioners, students, workers and entrepreneurs, debit and credit cards working in the "UnionPay" and "VISA" system in more than 180 countries of the world.

Deposits - There are different types of deposits in national and foreign currency.

``Mobile banking - ``Xalq Mobile application allows you to use remote banking services. Making payments through the application, repaying the loan, transferring funds sent via "Zolotoya Korona" money transfer to the card online, transferring funds from the card to other cards and obtaining an online loan, opening an online deposit and online conversion functions can be implemented.

"Money Transfers" — Xalq Bank with international money transfer systems such as "Western Union", "MoneyGram", "Zolotoya Korona", "Contact", "UniStream", "AsiaExpress" and "UPT" is working. Also, the system of money transfer in national and foreign currencies, the first in Uzbekistan, "UzPay" has been launched across our republic.

Foreign credit lines drawn[edit]

The bank not only attracts foreign specialists, but also establishes long-term cooperation with foreign banks.

Including:

1. 94 million from the US financial institution "Cargill Financial Services International, Inc." US dollar;

2. 50 mln. from "Asian Development Bank" (ADB) for the purpose of livestock breeding development. US dollar;

3. The first 2 mln. of trade financing from Aktif Bank of Turkey US dollar;

4. From Russia's "Roseksimbanki" in the equivalent of 10 million Euros (equivalent to 11 million US dollars);

5. 18 million from "Transkapitalbank". US dollar credit line funds;

6. 30 million from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). US dollar;

7. A credit line of 5 million US dollars was attracted from Kazakhstan's "First Heartland Jýsan Bank" for trade financing;

8. Received a loan of 25 million US dollars from "ICBC Standard Bank Plc";

9. A loan of 150 million US dollars was received from "Deutsche Bank".

This year, the bank has carried out work on attracting the following foreign credit lines. Including; — On April 1, a General Agreement worth EUR 50 million was signed with Raiffeisen Bank International AG (Austria) as part of project financing. (60 million USD equivalent) A total of 11 mln. Projects in the field of non-food industry in the amount of US dollars were financed. — with the bank PJSC "Sovcombank" (Russia) on April 6 in national currency 419 billion A 4-year loan agreement was signed for obtaining funds in the amount of soums. (40 million USD equivalent) Funds raised are allocated by branches for trade and retail loans.
