Xceleration Education is a private educational institution located in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It is ranked 5th in one of the top 35 tuition centre in Malaysia.[1]

It was started by a couple, Lim Lit Way & Resnie Khoo as a small-time tuition service without any physical centre. They went from house to house providing their tuition service before renting a shop lot at Luyang, Kota Kinabalu as their first brick and mortar. The Lims eventually went on to establish Xceleration Education and moved its business to a larger campus at Lido Plaza.
History
After years of working in the service industry and running small food and beverage businesses, the couple returned to Sabah in pursuit of a career in education. The couple started out by handling flyers and brochures to shop lots, cars, and houses to promote their tuition services. In the early phase, the couple provided their service either in the students' houses or the students would have their tuition session in their (the Lims) house. They catered specifically for Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School only.
Just within two years, the influx of students in their tuition services forced the couple to rent a shop lot in Foh Sang, Luyang to cope with their business expansion. As their business progressed, the Lims began to rent four shop lots in Lintas, Luyang and began employing tutors and adding more subjects for tutoring. The Lims established Xceleration Education to further strengthen their brand of business. In 2015 Xceleration Education consolidated its business in Lintas from 4 different shops into a 3-storey building at Lido Plaza.
By 2016, Xceleration Education began to expand its portfolio by offering international study programs such as IGCSE, A-Level, IELTS preparatory course and in 2018[2], the Lims retired from being part of the teaching staff in Xceleration Education and solely focused on managing their business.
The Lims went on to establish Xceleration Higher Education Consultancy in 2018, a consultancy service aimed at helping students in their further study. Resnie would go on to helm the consultancy service while Lim would remain focused on managing the learning centre. Resnie remained active in the consultancy service centre until two additional directors joined, where she would switch to become a silent partner.[3]
In 2019, Xceleration Education expanded its portfolio in the tuition line by catering to public schools students that are taking SPM. Even though Xceleration Education started out by providing tuition services to Tshung Tsin students who are mainly UEC candidates, it however did not provide any tuition intake to Kian Kok Middle School students at that time. Kian Kok is another private school in Kota Kinabalu Sabah that provides UEC to its students.
It was only until 2021 that Xceleration Education began offering tuition services to Kian Kok students after spending a year developing and researching its teaching & learning outline as well as the study materials that were suitable for Kian Kok students, making use of the Covid-19 pandemic event which restricted physical classes and the amount of staff operating physically in the centre.
In 2022, Xceleration Education expanded its portfolio again by adding English Enhancement Course, a short practical English course that catered mainly to post-secondary school students, working adults, or college/university students. They also added Double-Tracked Curriculum, a program that allowed non-science students in the public sector to be able to study science related degree / diploma in their further study.[4]
Academic Profile
Xceleration Education is famous for their Fast-Track program that allows students to complete their IGCSE / O-Level study at a very young age. As opposed to the international timeframe of needing 11 years of study or the national timeframe of needing 12 years of study before furthering to their studies to universities, their students are able to enroll to universities as young as the age of 16.[5]
Their Double-Track Curriculum is also uniquely able to allow non-science students in public school to further their study in science related degree or diploma by combining both SPM and IGCSE / O-Level results. The curriculum functions as such: the non-science student in public school will continue to study and sit for their SPM whilst supplementing the necessary subjects like Biology or Chemistry in their IGCSE / O-Level. The combined results of both IGCSE / O-Level and SPM will suffice the requirement to enroll for a science related degree / diploma in certain universities or colleges.
