Yaakov Blau (New Jersey)

Rabbi Yaakov Blau is a Rabbi at Yeshivat Frisch of Paramus,[1] though he has previously taught at the Maimonides School, had a prior stint at the Frisch School, and taught at Torah Academy of Bergen County (2014-2018) and Ma'ayanot Yeshiva High School (2013-2014). Rabbi Blau was also the head of the men’s division of Israel guidance in both Frisch and Maimonides. Rabbi Blau earned his BA in Jewish History from Yeshiva University and received Smicha from their RIETS program as well. He also holds a Master’s degree in Medieval Jewish history from the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies and another in Jewish Education from the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education. Rabbi Blau is also a talmid of Yeshivat Har Etzion. He is the author of a book titled "Medieval Commentary in the Modern Era: The Enduring Value of Classical Parshanut",[2] and some shiurim of his are available online at YUTorah.

Rabbi Blau lives in Teaneck, New Jersey with his wife and four children. He is the son of Rabbi Yosef Blau and of Dr. Rivkah Blau, and the brother of Rabbi Yitzchak Blau of Yeshivat Orayta and Rabbi Binyamin Blau of the Green Road Synagogue in Beachwood, Ohio.

Rabbi Yaakov Blau is a beloved Rebbe at Frisch. His Rate My Teachers score is 4.67 out of 5.[3]

He plays Yaaki Blauboa in The Frisch Dinner 2012: The Sound of Ruach.[4]
