Yahaha Studios is a Finnish company founded in 2020. The company's goal is to create a user-generated content-based, low-coding game creation system and game distribution platform. Yahaha was founded by former Unity developers, and is headquartered in Espoo, Finland, with R&D offices in Shanghai.[1]
The company's software supports both desktop and mobile platforms. Yahaha's goal is make the development of 3D multiplayer interactive content more accessible.[2]
History and development
Yahaha was founded by former Unity developers. After Yahaha launched its alpha in April 2022,[3] it gained a community of over 100,000 developers and 200,000 registered users for its platform.[2]
YAHAHA Asset Ovi
In February 2023, Yahaha Studios announced the launch of their 3D asset search tool, Asset Ovi.[4] It allows users to search assets from other 3D asset marketplaces such as Sketchfab and the Unity Asset Store in one platform.[5]
Events
Throughout the 2023 Global Game Jam, Yahaha hosted 110 people live at their site in Helsinki over the course of 48 hours, making it the country's largest hybrid-jam site. The jammers created 80 games, collaborating both on-site and through the online community, with some of the games created receiving as many as 34 thousand plays to date.[6]
