Yale Appliance, Inc. is an American retailer of major household appliances based in Massachusetts. The business traces its origins to 1923 in Boston and operates showrooms in the Greater Boston area and on Cape Cod and Nantucket.[1] Independent coverage has noted the company’s Dorchester showroom and its later expansion into a distribution facility in Norton.[2][3]
History
Yale Appliance dates to 1923 in Boston.[4] A second showroom opened in Framingham in 2015,[5] followed by a Hanover store in 2020.[6] In 2024–2025, coverage by local media and trade outlets described the company’s move into a new warehouse and showroom complex in Norton, reported at roughly 225,000–228,000 square feet.[7][8] Store expansion to Hyannis and Nantucket occurred in 2025.[9]
Facilities
The Dorchester showroom is described by Boston Magazine as 19,000 square feet.[10] The Norton site is part of BlueStar Business Park and has been reported in news and project write-ups at approximately 225,000–228,000 square feet.[11][12]
Recognition
In 2025, Boston Magazine named Yale as its “Best of Boston” winner in the Appliances category.[13]
