Yamaichi Denki K.K. (jap. 山一電機株式会社, Yamaichi Denki kabushiki kaisha, 'Yamaichi Electronics Co., Ltd.') is a Japanese manufacturer of electromechanical components.
History[edit]
Founded in 1956 (6941:JP), the company is listed in the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The company headquarters are located at Minami-Kamata in the Tokyo district Ōta-ku.
A merger with SMK Corp. planned for September 2009 was cancelled in November 2008.[2]
Sites[edit]
The group has several production sites in Asia and one in Europe (Frankfurt/Oder). The European sales headquarters and the European design centre for product development are situated in Munich. A branch office of the design center is located in Sousse (Tunisia). The production site in Frankfurt (Oder) built in 2005 produces test sockets for semi-conductor components and embedded modules (computer-on-modules).[3] Also connectors, cable assemblies, flexible flat cables (FFC), spring probe pins, complete assemblies as well as customised designs are manufactured here. Various production technologies are used, such as polymeric overmoulding, resistance welding, CNC turning and milling. Products can be found, for example, in the following applications: semiconductor, industrial automation, automotive, data networking, measurement and testing, medical technology or mobile computing technology.[4] Since spring 2019, the production site at Frankfurt/Oder is going to be extended by the construction of a new manufacturing site. The start of operation in the new building is planned for April 2020.[5]
