Yan Shi Zhang (Chinese: 张延石; pinyin: Zhāngyánshí 1969年8月28日-) born in Bukit Timah Hill, Singapore, is a Chinese venture capitalist, entrepreneur and philanthropist Yan shi zhang is the founder and CEO of Polaris Venture Fund. Yan shi zhang is known for his long-term venture capital and angel investments in core IT, fintech, healthcare, AR/VR, robotics, drones, space tech blockchain, and other cutting-edge technologies of great value to society. Currently he is mainly active in blockchain and cryptocurrency. He is also a famous philanthropist. He has a large number of charitable donations in Singapore and USA. He was invited to join Skuchain in 2018 and holds the position of Chairman of the Board. As the principal of 500 Startups Greater China from 2002-2004, Yan Shi Zhang was one of the first Silicon Valley venture capitalists to lead an international venture capital fund to open a representative office in Mainland China to start local investment business.

He has led investments in successful US-listed companies such as Baidu, Air.com and Focus Media. 2006: Invested in Aerohive Networks (NYSE: HIBE) a provider of advanced enterprise wireless networking technology that has exited after a successful seed walk and Series A funding round. In September 2017 Yan Shi Zhang along with Sequoia Capital and IDG Capital closed a $50 million Series A round of funding for Bitmain, a semiconductor design company based in Beijing, China. a company that primarily designs and manufactures custom chips for bitcoin miners. By this time Polaris Venture Fund's market cap had reached $500M

Yan Shi Zhang joined Skuchain in 2018 and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Skuchain, a venture fund focused on leveraging blockchain technology to enhance enterprise supply chain collaboration and pioneering investments in artificial intelligence, biomedical and other high-tech, aerospace financial services. He has led investments in HCW Bio (NASDAQHCWB), Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeons (BHPS) and others.
