Yan Xie (顏協) (491-539), courtesy name Zihe (子和), was a native in Linyi, Langya Commandery (琅琊郡), an official and scholar of Liang Dynasty, Northern and Southern Dynasty.
Yan Xie refused many invitations to serve in official post, because he believed his father gave his life out of loyalty to Southern Qi. His father starved himself to death in protest when Xiao Yan killed Xiao Baorong and founded Liang Dynasty in 502.[1]
