Yang Cao is a nuclear-science-informed human rights activist from mainland China. He actively exposed the nuclear proliferation and nuclear chemical pollutions mixed up with the electromagnetic warfare in Beijing, besides his advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights from within the bureaucratic system with censorship by bottom-up influence.[4][5][6] Apart from working in contemporary arts and the cinematic industry, Yang is also a polymath in multi- and trans-disciplinary independent researcher in high energy physics, economics, amongst others.[7][8]
The Arts and Intercultural Exchange

One of the most important thematic issues in Yang's artwork is the expression and articulation on the nuclear proliferation realities in the Chinese Communist Regime since the year 2010.[9]
As an intercultural communicator, he assisted many Chinese artists and curators in dialogues with the European counterparts, which includes Xing Xin's early exhibitions in the Venice Biennale, and the translation of Michael Bird's brief art history book 100 Ideas that Changed Art into Simplified Chinese (OCLC 1336579011).[10]
