Yang Chongqi (Chinese: 杨崇琪, 17 October 1954 – 25 February 2020) was a professor at the School of Management at Wuhan Institute of Technology.[1] He held various academic positions and served as director of China Society of Social Psychology and vice president of Hubei Society of Social Psychology, until his retirement in 2015.[2]
Early life and education
Yang Chongqi was born on 17 October 1954 in Wuhan, Hubei Province. In 1977, he was admitted to Wuhan Institute of Chemical Technology (now Wuhan Institute of Technology), majoring in chemistry and mechanics and graduated in 1981.[1] In 1985, he studied for double degrees at Central China Normal University.[3]
Career
Yang began his teaching and management career at Wuhan University of Engineering in 1987.
Since 1990, he has successively served as the deputy director of Hubei Youth Psychology Research Institute, vice president and president of Psychological Guidance Magazine, vice president and director of Hongtaokai Group.[4]
Since 2013, he has taught at Wuhan University of Engineering, and served as a professor at the School of Management of Wuhan University of Engineering. He participated in or presided over more than ten scientific research and teaching research projects. His focus was on Hubei high-tech enterprise development, property management and residential welfare research.
He retired from his post at the end of 2015.[5]
Yang was a member of the Communist Party of China and was party secretary of a party organization at the School of Management.[1]
Death
During the COVID-19 pandemic in China, Yang got infected with the coronavirus. On 25 February 2020, he died from the infection at the Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University.[1]
