The Yap football team represents Yap at international competitions. It is controlled by the Yap Football Association.[1]
History[edit]
Yap participated in their first Football at the Micronesian Games in 1998, but they finished 5th, only beating Pohnpei 4-3. They participated in their 2nd Football at the Micronesian Games in 2014. Same as the last time, they only won one game, but and finished last. However, their 3rd, and the latest edition, they finished 2nd.[2] Despite winning the group stages, they lost in the final to Pohnpei 3-2. Yap is not part of FIFA, therefore ineligible to participate in the World Cup Qualification.
