Yaqub Badarpuri
Badarpuri saheb was in need of a murshid. One night, he saw in a dream that Quṭb al-Irshād Mawlana Hafiz Ahmad Jaunpuri was calling him. He asked the Mawlana where he can meet him. Jaunpuri saheb told him in Chandpur, Tipperah district. After waking up, Badarpuri saheb immediately set out for Chandpur. Mawlana Jaunpuri was waiting for him for three days and had told his khadims that "if an aalem comes from Sylhet, make sure that you bring him to me". When Badarpuri exited from the train, people started asking where he had come from. He said Sylhet, and so they told him that Huzur Qiblah Jaunpuri has been waiting for you for three days. Badarpuri was shocked, "he doesn't even know who I am so who is he waiting for?". Nevertheless, Badarpuri saheb arrived in from of Allama Jaunpuri who asked him thrice what he wants. Badarpuri saheb thrice replied the pleasure of Allah and His messenger pbuh. After that, Jaunpuri allowed him to take bay'ah with him. Within two days, Badarpuri saheb completed the sabaq of tariqat and surpassed the maqaamaat of fana, baqa, mashaheda etc. Hazrat Jaunpuri then gave him khilaafat, but Badarpuri saheb begged to stay with him for some more time. Pir-e-Kamil Hazrat Jaunpuri then grabbed Badarpuri saheb and gave Badarpuri saheb his own ring and said your khidmat is no longer required. Badarpuri saheb asked him, where will we meet again? Jaunpuri saheb replied, we will never meet again. Subhanallah, on the same day, Jaunpuri saheb left for Dhaka and died on the journey there. (26/01/1899)
