Work[edit]
Yassine Balbzioui has developed a unique figurative visual language that borrows from traditional iconographic motifs, reinterprets them and creates an innovative context. Masks and masquerades are central motifs in his compositions. Animalistic or animistic motifs appear alongside descriptions of present phenomena. As painter, Balbzoui works on canvas, in watercolors and creates murals. As a sculptor Balboui enjoys the material experiment. Wood, steal, porcellan – Balbzouis exploration of the substance is always part of his creative process.[2] [3] [4] [5]
