Yatindra Mishra (born 12 April 1977) is an Indian poet,[1] author,[2] editor and translator. His body of work includes Indian musicology and cultural history.

Early life and education

Mishra was born in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, and began his studies in microbiology. Later, he shifted to Hindi literature and received his postgraduate degree from the University of Lucknow.[3]

Literary career

Yatindra Mishra has authored five poetry collections, namely Yada Kada (1997), Ayodhya Tatha Anya Kavitayein (1999), Dyodhi Par Alaap (2005), Vibhas (2011) and Bina Kalinga Vijay Ke[4] (2024).

His biographical works include Girija,[5] Devpriya, Sur Ki Baradari[5], and Lata: Sur Gatha,[6][7][8] Gulzar Saab: Hazara Rahein Mud Ke Dekhin[9] and Akhtari: The Life and Music of Begum Akhtar.

Awards and recognition

Yatindra Mishra was awarded the Swarna Kamal[10] at the 64th National Film Awards[11][12] as well as the MAMI Mumbai Film Award[13] in 2017. He is also a recipient of the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar.
