Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building is a public multi-storey car park at 250 Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, Hong Kong, built in year 1957, with 770 parking spaces.[1]
History
The carpark was built in year 1957, the same year as Star Ferry Multi-storey Car Park, which are the earliest multi-storey car parks in Hong Kong.
A dual-lane flyover of Gascoigne Road was built in year 1977[2], with a section passing through the car park.
Design
Yau Ma Tei Carpark building was built in modern architecture, common in government buildings in the 50s to 70s, which emphasize its function.
Passing through a car park by a flyover like Gascoigne Road Flyover is also rare in Hong Kong.

Future development
To facilitate the construction of Central Kowloon Route, Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building is about to be demolished. Transport Department has stated that it has sought a piece of land at the junction of Jordan Road and Lin Cheung Road as temporary car park[3]
