Kim Yechan (Korean: 김예찬; Gunsan, North Jeolla, South Korea, November 26, 1995), better known as Yechan, is a South Korean singer. She is known for being the main vocalist of Pink Fantasy and having been part of the group Awe5omeBaby, under this same position.[1]
Career[edit]
2012-2015: Pre-debut[edit]
Before debuting as an idol, Yechan won 2 awards in the "Grand Prize" category (Daesang or 대상 in Korean) in 2012 at the "Korea Youth Music Festival" and "Gunsan Youth Song Festival" youth festivals.[2][3][4]
2015-2016: Awe5omeBaby[edit]
On June 11, 2015, released an OST called "아는 사람" for the web-drama of the same name, performed only by Yechan.[5]
On June 15, 2015, she debuted as a member of beatpella group "Awe5omeBaby" with the song "Why Should I?", being the lead/main vocalist of it.[6]
However, after a year, the group disbanded on December 4, 2016.[7]
2018-current: PinkFantasy[edit]
On October 17, 2018, she was announced as a member of Pink Fantasy, where she debuted on October 24 of the same year with the single "Iriwa".[8][9] She is currently still active in the said girlgroup and has been part of all group releases.
She has also participated in the sub-unit PinkFantasy MDD.
Likewise, she has been credited in several songs of the group's discography as one of the backing vocalists in the studio versions of these songs.
