YoloBus is an intercity full-stack bus service which integrates operations and technology in the intercity transportation and mobility platform. It was founded in August 2019 by Shailesh Gupta, Danish Chopra and Mukul Shah. It raised $0.6 million in its seed round of funding, in early 2020, and another $3.3 million in its Series A round of funding led by Nexus Venture Partners. The company has so far raised $4.1 million in funding.[3] Shailesh Gupta serves as the CEO of the company.

Yolobus uses technology to bring post-COVID safety measures, smart fleet management and tech-friendly operations to the intercity bus aggregation business. It does not own buses, but only takes care of the operational side of the business.

This Gurugram-based tech-travel start up operates its fleet in more than 20 routes across North, South, and some of the North-Eastern parts of India, including Assam.[4][5].

Background[edit]

YoloBus was co-founded in August 2019 by Shailesh Gupta[6][7], Mukul Shah and Danish Chopra. The company raised seed funding of $600,000 in January 2020 from angel investors and a venture capital firm.[8][9]. The company further raised Series A funding of $3.3 million from Nexus Venture Partners in June 2020. [10][11][12]. In May 2020, company expanded its fleet and launched its services in Northeast India.[13][14].

The company in collaboration with Sonu_Sood initiated GharBhejo campaign to support migrant workers reach their home during the pandemic, and has sent about 350 stranded migrant workers home. As a part of its regular operations, it screens its travellers for temperature and other Covid-19 symptoms before they board a bus. So far it has ferried over 1 lakh passengers amidst the pandemic. [15].

YoloBus competes with online travel agencies such as RedBus, IntrCity[16], Abhibus[17], MakeMyTrip and Paytm.
